More Shouting (and Liquid Relief)

So the gumipopper days at Sark have officially come to a close... beginning September 15 the parties will be held at the margit atletikai centrum and chachacha kert. This means we'll be spinning on BOTH floors until the weather is too unfit for the outside, at which time we'll only play indoors. On the downside this means it won't be a stone's throw from my flat an the other dist VII stomping grounds, but the upsides are nearly everything else (more space, less smoke, some other perks...). Gumi site-ness here (okay i'll admit again, thrown together by me in a hurry).

Also, i'm very relieved to realize that on that same weekend my visitor who will be coming via Reykjavik can indeed pack a liquid as long as it is in checked baggage. Whew! Liz, seriously, as many damn bottles of Opal you can fit. Bring a second empty luggage for the sole purpose ;)

Shout Outs!

First shout out: my buddy Akos Sipos who interviewed me for Pep magazine last month, and who i saw at Sziget just last week, and made no mention of any particular upcoming plans. Fast forward one week and i'm reading the BBC website about this 3-wheeler-mini car race across India, and damn if I don't see a familiar face in the picture. Wait, what? Akos? Indeed, homeboy is hangin' off the side of the car wearing devil horns and apparently having an awesome time. You go boy! Color me jealous.

Second shout out: a little late but deserved no less, my boys Moog, who signed recently with MuSick records and will work with Jack Endino, who produced Nirvana's first album, next month! Plus they gots a brand spankin' new website! (okay, okay, designed by me, i'll admit)

Anyhowser, congrats to my hungarian warriors, holla!

Sleep Follows Non-sleep

A very downtempo sunday, punctuated by a 100 km wind and rain storm that blew through literally 5 minutes after the hungarian national day firework celebration started. I was situated in the relatively safety of adrian's danube-side flat, and got to watch 30,000 people scramble for their lives before needing 3 of us to hold the window shut because the rain was blowing horizontally. Oh, the excitement of it all! (well, it certainly beat what the firework show would've been)

So, i should give something away. Hmm. How about... Peter Bjorn and John - Young Folks (have this on repeat of late, super addictive minimalistic pop, with whistling!) and Zager And Evans - In The Year 2525 (which travels over 10,000 years in 3 minutes!).

Go get.

Standing on a Beach With a Gun in His Hand?

This is just one of the most bizarre tidbits of information that has come to my attention in a very long time.

I mean, huh? If I hear Georges Bataille is next up on my dear prez's reading list I'm pretty sure the world has started spinning in reverse.

Six Seconds Off for Bad Behavior

So another sziget comes and goes... Pics!

And i don't know how many of you are astronomy nerds like me, but i have no problem with Pluto being declassified as a planet. Except it looks like they won't. In fact, we're gonna have so many planets on our hands we won't know what to do with them.

My solution: everybody gets a planet and can live out their own version of Le Petit Prince!

Good?
